Tsubohachi Opens a New Style of "Sakana Matsuri Tsubohachi" Outlet

Sumikin Bussan affiliate Tsubohachi Co., Ltd., has supplemented its four existing types of bar and restaurant facilities-Tsubohachi, Akanedoki, Riraku-Za and Haccho-with a new-style outlet, Sakana Matsuri Tsubohachi. The first shop opened on March 18, 2009, in the vicinity of Japan Railway's Kinshicho Station in Tokyo.

The gastronomic culture of the Japanese has largely been transformed by the meat-and-bread based eating habits of the West, with fast food and other imports becoming widespread in the daily diet. However, Western meals tend to be high in fat and calories, leading to growing numbers of people suffering from obesity and other conditions arising from overindulgence. Sakana Matsuri Tsubohachi features a low-calorie, healthy seafood menu that responds to contemporary needs driven by concerns over eating habits.

Tsubohachi evolved based on the concept of "delivering the gifts of nature to customers." The current offering expands on this theme by presenting a style of dining that is in keeping with the meal's ingredients.

The ambiance of the outlet is a clear departure from the private-booth layout of many Japanese eating and drinking establishments. It is brightly lit, with a prevailing lively, festival atmosphere. Sakana Matsuri Tsubohachi aims to restore vitality to its clientele, to give them an energy boost in preparation for the morrow.
