On August 7, 22 students studying Japanese at Renmin University of China (Location: Beijing) and Aisei Institute of Education (Location: Taito-ku, Tokyo) visited Sumikin Bussan Corporation. In their approximately two weeks in Japan, the students will visit iron and steel manufacturers, financial institutions and other Japanese companies. The students will attend presentations on company operations and China-Japan business relations, and tour factories.
At Sumikin Bussan, Deputy President Otsuka-head of the Textiles Company-spoke on the role of Japanese firms and the status of the textile department's business operations in China. The talk, entitled "China-Japan Apparel Business Relations and Future Prospects," enriched the students' understanding of China's importance as a production base for the Japanese textiles market.
Deputy President Otsuka closed his speech by urging students to "be a bridge to support continued favorable relations between China and Japan," following up with a question-and-answer session.
We were pleased to have the opportunity to converse face-to-face with Chinese university students and enhance our understanding of China during this landmark 35th year since the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan. We are eagerly looking forward to opportunities to hold additional conferences and lectures for students from overseas to deepen mutual understanding and provide a venue for cultural exchange. |
