We therefore work to ensure that our Steel, Industrial Supply & Infrastructure, Textiles and Foodstuffs internal companies and Corporate Planning & Administrative Division conduct their activities in a manner that protects as well as improves the environment. Through such efforts, we will continue to fulfill our responsibilities as a corporate citizen.     1. Compliance with environmental laws and regulations We will help prevent pollution by complying with the environmental laws and regulations of Japan and other countries in which we operate. 2. Awareness of environmental impact When providing products and services or selecting businesses to invest in, we will give full consideration to the impact on the environment and local communities. 3. Efficient use of energy and natural resources We are acutely aware that the world's natural resources are limited and will promote the efficient use and reduced consumption thereof. In each of our branches, we will endeavor to minimize the burden of our operations on the environment through concerted efforts to generate less waste and promote recycling. 4. Maintain and improve our Environmental Management System We will regularly review and improve our Environmental Management System to achieve the goals outlined in our Environmental Policy. 5.
